STANLEY CUP FINALS, GAME 6
WHAT EACH TEAM NEEDS TO DO:A lot of the game will be determined in the first 5 minutes of the game. If the Zebras decide to call interference closely, The Pens will get an early power play. What they do with it is entirely up to them. The fact that Detroit has Zetterberg and Lidstrom on their kill unit makes a PPG pretty tough sledding anyway. Still...
PITTSBURGH: They need to get the first goal, so Detroit can't slow the game down. They need to concentrate on their game, not just trying to work the officials for calls. A good crew is not going to want to have to decide tonight's game, so don't look for any questionable calls. If the game is a one-goal game, nothing short of homicide will get called in the last 10 minutes. But for the PEnguins, if they play their game, they can use their youth and speed to dictate the flow of the game, and get to Game 7 on Friday.
DETROIT: They lacked their usual discipline on Monday night, and still damn near took the Cup home. They need to play tough along the blue line, and dare the refs to call interference. In the meantime, non-calls will get into the Penguins' collective heads, and they will be lucky to get 25 shots on the night. Detroit got here through excellence of execution, and this will be what ultimately wins them the Cup.
All that being said, look for the 2007-08 season to end tonight.
