CAPTAINCY IN QUESTION: Hawks Players Unsure About Toews' Obsession
What was once thought a certainty in and around the Chicago Blackhawks organization, the naming of Jonathan Toews as the team's captain, may now be in jeopardy.
"At first, we thought it was pretty funny," one Blackhawks player said, "Jonny left his iPod laying around, and we looked to see if there was anything embarrassing on there. We found hundreds of songs, broken into different play lists."
"When he was out in January," another Hawk added, "Taver was playing that (stuff) non-stop in the weight room. We usually like to have something that rocks while we lift, not that (stuff)."

"I never knew he spoke French until he started explaining one of the French songs to me," A teammate explained, "He was telling me until you hear it in French, you can't truly appreciate it."
It seems Toews is an aficionado of the music of Celine Dion. "I don't know, it just moves me," Toews explained. "Whatever I'm feeling, Celine has a song for that emotion."
The players went on, "After the season ended, a bunch of guys decided to go to Vegas, hit some tables, let off a little steam. Jonny wanted to go with us, even though he couldn't go to the bars or casinos."
Another teammate continued, "All he talked about at the airport and on the plane was how Celine Dion had a special place built for her concerts, and it was sold out every night."
"I don't know what the big deal is," they continued, "Wayne Newton sells out every night. I thought everybody sold out in Vegas. Not that it mattered, the only show we wanted to see was Van Halen, and Mr. Wirtz set us all up with tickets for that."
"He's going to be our captain, which means he's going to be our leader. But do we want to be led to a Celine Dion concert?"
Another player countered, "He took every loss really hard. Each time we lost, he played 'My Heart Will Go On' in the locker room at least 20 times. Part of what a captain does is to make you want to win every game. If that means never having to hear that song again, we're going to try to go 82-0."
"That would make him the greatest captain of all time."
