OLYMPIC SHOCKER: German Women's Hockey Team Annexes Games

BEIJING - The 2008 Olympic Games have been annexed by the German Women's Hockey Team, HOCKEENIGHT has learned.

"Ze Deutsche Uberfrauen now rule the Summer Games!" proclaimed the team's coach and General manager, an unknown in International hockey circles known only as "Morpheus".

"Nobody expected a Summer offensive", Morpheus explained. "The Winter Games aren't for another year-and-a-half, so we were able to walk in and take over without any struggle."

It is unclear at this time why a team playing a winter sport would have any interest in the Summer Games. The next Winter Games aren't scheduled to begin until February 2010 in Vancouver.

"Everyone would have been prepared for the Uberfrauen in Vancouver," Morpheus said.

"We are making preparations for not only the German Women's hockey team, but for all the atheletes who are currently training in hope of competing in the Winter Games in 2010," One official in Vancouver confirmed.

"Now we have control over the games. We rule the swimmers, the pole vaulters, even the syncronized divers!" Morpheus said while banging on his desk. "We cannot be stopped! This is only the beginning!"

When asked what the team would do next, Morpheus said, "We have our eyes on a web site. Perhaps you've heard of this HOCKEENACHT?"
