Surprising that they did it after a win. Still, it'll be interesting to see line configurations stay together for more than two shifts.

Well, Quenneville knows his shit. This is a fantastic hire. No more pussyfooting for these Hawks.
I appreciate the resiliency Savard's Hawks teams showed. But, alas.

I'm sorry. I'm not going to be the majority here. I'm appalled that Savvy got the boot. I don't believe he got a fair shake this season after 4 measly games. They had a slow start last season and almost made the playoffs. You can't tell me these first four games would have made or break the season. I'll give Quenneville his props; he is a very good coach...almost Keenan-like. My question is can he win the big one.

Why do people keep saying..."after only 4 games????" Was he not the coach all of last season when they collapsed out of the playoffs? Sure the team was young and had a shitty goaltender, but they had enough talent and points to get that 8th seed if it wasn't for several long horrible point-less streaks they had in the middle of the season.
Scotty Bowman is going to "consult" his son to the GM job, as you got to think Tallon is next on the chopping block. Pulford's regime is toast, time to start winning Stanley Cups.

I agree with you 100%. Savard did get a fair shake. I think everybody here has a high respect of Savvy, but he just set things up for a more seasoned coach. Hopefully, Denis can stay with the team in some capacity in the future. He's a class act.

The sooner Tallon goes, the better. He's shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that he can't manage the salary cap for shit. This team needs some vets and there are some good ones sitting (Sundin, Shanahan) for want of contracts right now. And Barker sitting in Rockford while Brent Sopel gets regular shifts is a disgrace. I'm not convinced Barker is that great, but he can't be worse than Sope.

When Barker comes up, Sopel won't go anywhere. It's the rotation of Walker and Johnson that will need to go somewhere when that ocurrs.

As CT said, there are still some vets on the market who can help. Get Khabby's contract off the fucking books once and for all. Get Barker up on the big club.
Walker and/or Johnson need to be in Rockford.
Sopel needs to be anywhere that isn't Chicago.
Instead of Savvy's "four measly games", I believe had Scotty joined the Hawks sooner, Savvy wouldn't have started the season.
