SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY: Blackhawks 6, Canucks 3
The Chicago Blackhawks evened their Round Two series with the Vancouver Canucks, scoring 5 unanswered goals in 15:24 en route to a decisive 6-3 win in Vancouver.
Patrick Sharp and Dave Bolland each had 2 goals, and Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 18 of 21 shots.
So, let's get to it...
THE GOOD:
Nikolai Khabibulin. After the two early Vancouver goals, Khabby was a shutdown goalie. Cups are won when goalies elevate their games. Right now, Khabby's game is above Roberto Luongo's, and that can be the difference maker. He was the Bulin Wall when the Hawks were proving Luongo to be merely mortal.
Patrick Sharp. The Hawks needed a lift, and he scored two in the second to pull the Hawks to a tie. Kudos to Quenneville for giving him plenty of ice time to try for the hat trick.
Dave Boland. His shorthanded goal on a very sweet fake on Roberto Luongo was the eventual game winner, and he added an empty netter to close it out.
The guys over at Second City Hockey. They keep a pretty good dialogue going, and some good laughs. They now recognize the power of the RALLY MULLET!!!
THE BAD:
Bad penalties early. The Hawks have dug themselves into early holes in both games, and managed to tie in Game 1, and score 5 in a row tonight, but you can't count on that every night. Dodging a bullet doesn't mean you're bulletproof, guys.
THE UGLY:
The last 7 minutes. Vancouver knew they were toast, and decided to pull a bunch of goon shit. We love a tough game of hockey, but if you get out-badassed when the game is up for grabs, don't flex when you're getting your ass kicked.
Game 3 is Tuesday Night in the United Center, where there is a possibility of some crowd enthusiasm.

Are those feathers on the Hawks logo?
Or just an extended mullet?

It has to be said: Dustin Byfuglien is playing the best hockey of his life in these playoffs. The man has been absolutely vital.

"Dodging a bullet doesn't mean you're bulletproof, guys."
Very well said.
Glad to see you unleashed the rally mullet in all its glory...

The Luna Schnozz has become my White Whale`and is the sole reason why the Hawks penalty killing has sucked. The Luna Schnozz is to penalty killing as the Rally Mullet is to scoring goals.

Can we get a screen pop of the schnozz? I don't think I've seen it yet.

I think what MGRW is saying is he's looking for Luna Schnozz in order to get a screencap.
