    Re: goaltending.

To say that the best goaltending is in the West is absolutely not true:

Ward is outplaying Osgood statistically, and Ward has definitely faced better offenses in the playofs. Boston was 2nd in GPG in the regular season, New Jersey was 15th, compared to Anaheim at 14th and Columbus at 21.

Fleurry and Khabi's numbers are average at best, and Fleurry is slightly ahead of Khabi in GAA and SV%. Fleurry has seen the 3rd and 5th best offenses in the regular season (Wash and Philly respectively) while Khabi has seen the 8th and 11th best (Calgary and Vancouver, respectively).

All four goaltenders have played in the Cup Finals before, and Fleurry is the only netminder to not have won a Cup.

Still, when you break down the numbers, the East has the goaltending advantage.

I was glad to see Thomas exit, and I'm sure that Hawks fans are excited about not seeing Hiller...even if Anaheim was the better matchup.

The four best overall goaltenders--Luongo, Thomas, Hiller and Brodeur are all at home. Goaltending could still win one of these four teams a Cup, but if it's going to be Khabi or Fleurry, both are going to have to be much more consistent and much sharper than they have been through 2 rounds.

    Few more thoughts...

    1. Mango Jabanero is the way to go.

    2. The bar I was at Saturday night played the goal song after every Hawks goal. I think you'd have to go to St. Louis to find a "tradition" that's more awful and annoying.

    3. Forget LA Gil. I'll call into next week's Puckcast and take up arguing that Crosby is the best player on the Penguins...and in the NHL.

    Good work guys.
