PUCKING HILARIOUS: Fork Didn't Come Up With That.

As you know, we at HOCKEENIGHT have taken great pride in never advertising anything other than charitable causes, like Brian Campbell's poker tournament. Until now.

Our new friends at Pucking Hilarious have put together some pretty damn funny shirt designs. And, seeing as how none of you cheap bastards have bought a goddamn thing from our store, I can only assume that you've been saving your precious nickels and dimes for something like this to come along. Either that, or you've all been dropping your money on the bar at Laschet's Inn.

PH consists or a couple hockey fans from Nova Scotia who have managed to combined their love of hockey and t-shirts in an entertaining fashion. They also put their designs on hoodies.

Where do they get their ideas for designs?

Well, we've gone through nine designs in our first month and eight of those were something that I came up with. Sometimes I read a comment on a blog, or see something funny on TV and it inspires me to start sketching something out - usually it ends up being something that will never see the light of day and other times it works out really well. Our newest design, "Emperor Bettman", was actually my business partner's idea (he hand screen prints the shirts)... I think he had a dream about it and called me first thing in the morning. The hatred for Bettman runs deep, I suppose.
(I guess they never saw ChuckD's brilliant "Leave It To Bettman")

One thing that's interesting, I guess, is that they only offer their designs for a limited time. Why, you ask?

Our model of having a deadline every two weeks and only having four designs available is just something that's necessary at this point. We don't send our shirts out to a big printing corporation - they're all hand screen printed with love and care. Having people "pre-order" shirts actually works out quite well because you have the chance to completely customize the design. You can pick from a variety of colours, sizes and garment types. We're definitely looking at ways to make more designs available at a time, and in a couple of days we'll have our "vault" section ready that will let you view old designs and vote to bring them back.

So far their designs have had a Leafs-centric slant to them. Are there any plans to come up with anything (other than the Wings logo above) that Hawks fans might enjoy?

Definitely, and we've already busted out a few for some of the bigger market teams. I'd like to get designs for each of the original six teams by season's end. I try to keep my Leaf love in check but sometimes my true colours show through. That being said, "What Would Wendel Do?" is our highest selling design!

Now when you talk about hockey and colorful clothes, you can only think one thing: Don Cherry. Any plans for any Don Cherry items?

I think a Don Cherry shirt would send the screen printing press into a tail spin! I was actually going to make a custom "PuckMan" tie and send it to him...

Finally, I asked them what we can do to get people to buy our merchandise, as we haven't sold anything in over a year. Not a single throw pillow or thong (dammit, Block!)...

Thongs! Now there's an idea. I could see Ovechkin's face on a thong selling like hot cakes. Or a Toskala throw pillow to beat around the room (Hey Anaheim fans!). The biggest thing for us has been people spreading the word about the site. I feel like there's a million hockey fans out there that would get a kick out of the shirts if they got their peepers on them.

So go over to Pucking Hilarious and buy some cool stuff. Tell them that HOCKEENIGHT sent you.
