BUY PUCKS, MAKE A WISH.
Over the past two years, along with all the hockey and boner jokes, we've also managed to raise a few bucks for charity. And by "a few" we actually mean "a couple grand".And since we're getting clobbered with traffic during the Final, we're going to take advantage here.
The folks at Nikcosports have put together this sharp-looking set of pucks to celebrate the Hawks being in the Stanley Cup Final. There's only 5,000 sets, and Chris Pronger can't steal them all.
For those who are so inclined, these cost a mere $39.95, and they're raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Born in 1980 when a group of caring individuals helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the Foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 67 chapters in the U.S. and its territories. With the help of generous donors and nearly 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants more than 12,600 wishes a year and has granted more than 168,000 wishes in the U.S. since inception.
So while we're all celebrating the Hawks, and admiring their resolve, take a few bucks out of your pocket to help some kids who have more guts than I'll ever have.
Thanks. Let's sell this thing out.

Geesh, $15 for shipping.
