Fernando Mania!

Sorry, wrong Fernando. On Wednesday, the Blackhawks came to terms on a $500,000 contract with former Edmonton Oiler Fernando Pisani.
Pisani's spent his 7 seasons as a solid defensive winger and penalty killer, with his best stretch coming during the Oilers run to the Stanley Cup Finals during the 2005-6 season, when he scored 14 goals in 24 playoff games, including this Game 5 OT winner against the Hurricanes in the Finals:
Unfortunately for Pisani his playing time has been limited lately. He broke his ankle in 2008 and then was diagnosed ulcerative colitis.
I apologize for the tastelessness of this site. Sometimes, we just can't help ourselves. Regardless, this is a low risk, potentially high reward move by the Hawks. Worst case scenario, Pisani can't play much, gets some spot duty killing penalties and shares time with somebody from Rockford. Best case? He's able to stay healthy and play good two way hockey, chipping in 15 goals or so on the 3rd line, then exploding in the playoffs to lead the Hawks to their 2nd straight Cup and become such a legend that Forklift reuintes his Swedish power-pop group and rerecords an old hit in tribute to our new hero:
That's Fork on the far left by the way.

ABBA will be Bjorn again!
