2 POINTS 1 CUP: Flyers 4, Blackhawks 1

The last time the Chicago Blackhawks faced the Philadelphia Flyers, the game ended with Patrick Kane racing down the ice looking like he was attacked by hornets, while Stan Bowman got Thrashers GM Rick Dudley on the phone. Of course, there were trophies given out, and there was a parade, and all that good stuff.

Today, the Philadelphia Flyers came into the United Center with 2 points on the line, and they took them back home with them. Unfortunately for them, nobody gives out rings for earning 2 points in January.

The Chicago Blackhawks came out today flatter than June's Stanley Cup champagne, and the Flyers came out with playoff intensity. The end result was a 4-1 Flyers win.

Let's get to this:

THE GOOD:

The United Center felt Hockeenight deep inside her today. Our Group Buy resulted in 33 people clogging up Section 314, and we'd like to thank everyone from coming out, Erin from Red Hockey Heels was there, along with Oleg, Yeti, Gil, the Hawk, DenRizz, and a bunch of other awesome people. Between the first and second period, we even managed to make a special presentation to our good friend Chris Block. CT and I also managed to hoist some tasty Malört in your honor:

Looks like CT did a pump-fake to me.

Marian Hossa scoring on a penalty shot. It seems like every time I listened to a game on the radio this season, someone on the Hawks got a penalty shot opportunity in the United Center. Which meant Troy Murray talked about being the last Blackhawk to score on a penalty shot on home ice back in 1987. Sorry Troy.

THE BAD:

The Hawks lost. It sucked, but they play again Tuesday. The Bears lost, and they are done until next season. That sucks a lot more.

THE UGLY:

I left those damn flasks of Malört in the United Center.

Next up is another home game in the United Center Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild. Stop by and say hello to yours truly and the lovely LFork. Don't expect any Malört.

That's what CT looks like? I expected a cooler looking fellow.

Just kidding. That video was the only thing I smiled at the last couple days. Thanks.

Listening to Puckcasts, I always thought CT sounded like my brother-in-law. Watching the video, I know I have found my brother-in-law's doppelgänger.
