HAWKS DESTROYED BY CARBOMB: Oilers 3, Blackhawks 2

Fucking Daniel Carcillo. Fucking Power play. Fucking Chicago Blackhawks putting their heads up their asses every time they see the fucking Edmonton Oilers.

The Hawks came out looking to square things with the Oilers after the 9-2 drubbing they took during the Circus Trip. Things looked OK at the start, with Jonathan Toews getting a nice goal to put the Hawks up in the first before Daniel Carcillo decided driving Tom Gilbert into the boards was a good idea. More on that in a minute.

Let's get this over with:

Toews. A goal, 14-8 at the dot, got his mouth opened up after a helping of Eric Belanger's stick, and never missed a shift. Just another night at the office.

Jimmy Hayes. The big kid got his first NHL goal, and started getting more ice at the end of the game. With Carbomb out (more on that below), he'll get some more time in the NHL. In fact, I'd expect either Ben Smith or Jeremy Morin to show up in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Holy Christ, does this power play fucking suck. Another 0-for-5 tonight. Look, I don't pretend to be a master strategist or anything, but how the fuck can any team that has Toews, Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook have so much goddamn trouble putting the puck in the fucking net when there are less of the other team out there? Simply put, they are being way too damn cute out there. You actually can't get annoyed at the people yelling "Shoot it!", because it appears the Hawks have forgotten that's an option. Tonight they had 11 shots in 10 minutes with the man advantage. That is brutal.

Carcillo's hit on Gilbert. Not only was it dirty, but it was idiotic. There was no playing of the puck, he drove Gilbert into the boards, and even managed to injure himself in the process. This one should earn him at least three games, but the most severe punishment that Brendan Shanahan can dish out would be to require the Blackhawks to continue dressing him. We here at HOCKEENIGHT weren't thrilled with this signing when it happened, and now he's been a liability to the point that John Scott doesn't look all that bad.

Next up for the Hawks is a trip to Philadelphia to see the red-hot Flyers Thursday night. This time, the Flyers will play indoors.

Damn Fork...I couldn't have said it better...and that makes me a bit uncomfortable. I'm the cynic after all.

Between being Shanabaned, Hawk management coming to it's senses, and perhaps injury, I hope Carcillo never sees the ice again for the Hawks.

And what the hell is wrong with the PP? Despite a solid record and some good guys, this team is hard to like much of the time.
