COLORADO CRAPFEST: Avalanche 5, Blackhawks 1

Well, that sucked. The Chicago Blackhawks started the Circus Trip by visiting the reeling (losses in their last three games) Colorado Avalanche , who got three past Corey Crawford on seven shots in the first period before coasting to a 5-1 drubbing of the Stanley Cup Champs in Pepsi Center.

Let's get to this:

Plenty. Let's start with the Hawks' turnovers that led to the first two Colorado goals. Crawford was left all alone on both of those. The Hawks then continued to play as if there was a lit fuse on the puck all night. Crawford was the focus of the team's abject failure tonight, but make no mistake - this was a team effort.

Not using their talent and creativity on offense. On paper, the Hawks outshot the Avalanche by a huge margin, but nobody on the Avs really had to work too hard on this one. The Hawks didn't get into the slots at all, and were letting everyone get a real good look at every shot.

Losing to reprehensible shitbags like Patrick Roy and Semyeon Varlamov. Look, we all know there will be games over a 82 game season where the Hawks will lose games they should win and win some they have no business winning. But goddamnit, losing to a wife beater coach and his shitbag goalie just fucking sucks worse. If there's one thing that Blackhawks and Red Wings fans can agree on, it this - fuck Patrick Roy.

Early in the game Bryan Bickell got tripped and his left leg banged into the post on the Colorado net. Which led to Brandon Bollig logging much more ice time (13:31) than you ever want Bollig logging. Hopefully Bickell is good to go for the next game.

Next up for the Hawks is a return to Winnipeg to face the red-hot Jets and their helmeted fans Thursday night. Hopefully they bring their give-a-shit to that one.
