Meh: Hawks 3, Perds 1

Well, as usual, that was excruciatingly boring.  Seriously, I cannot watch these Chicago/Nashville games anymore.  I can't even blame Trotz anymore, these two teams just seem to be unable to play an interesting hockey game against each other.

Tonight's game was marred by penalties (6 for Chicago, 5 for Nashville), Stalbergs and a bunch of other crap.  Patrick Kane did score a sweet ass goal on the power play and Chicago won but I've already forgotten most of the game.  I thought this was what we brought on Schwarziest for.

THE GOOD:

Marian Hossa - The guy is just...great.  Hoss only had an assist tonight but he was pivotal on the penalty kill, which unfortunately for the Hawks spent a LOT of time on the ice tonight.

Duncan Keith - A goal and assist and a shitload of PK time himself.  Let's be clear here, THIS is the half of the 2/7 pairing that should be in consideration for the Norris Trophy.

Antti Raanta - The Finnish whatever he is stopped 27 of 28 shots to run his record to 7-1-1.

THE BAD:

Refereeing - Holy crap, what a poorly officiated game.  It had it all, soft penalties, missed calls, a "no-goal" call on a pretty obvious goal and a blown icing in there for good measure.  Not a good outing for this crew.

Pat Foley - We complain about Eddie Olczyk here, honestly, Edzo seems to have the ability to keep Pat tethered in reality.  Tonight was Foley at his worst, rambling, complaining, taking veiled shots at guys, and stomping all over Steve Konroyd during the broadcast.  Guh.

This thing right here.  That's just...really.  C'mon Nashville, be better than that.

THE UGLY:

Up Next: The Hawks take on the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.
