Now that the Chicago Blackhawks have loaned the Stanley Cup to Los Angeles for the year, it’s time for us to once again peruse the various also-rans in the NHL before the Hawks get down to the formality of reclaiming the Cup in June 2015. We continue our series with the Buffalo Sabres.

Puckcast Recap: Hawks 2, Sabres 1

The Hawks beat the Buffalo Sabres tonight 2-1, and rather than bother writing that thing up, Fork and CT decided to instead have a Puckcast with Chris Block of The Third Man In.  As usual we had a lot to talk about:
  • Well, we all watched the game so we might as well review that.
  • Rockford, Brandon Pirri, Jeremy Morin and other stuff.
  • Swedish defensemen everywhere.
  • The Hawks’ move at the trade deadline.
  • Is Mike Gillis trying to get fired?
  • Chris Block hates CORSI. You can contact him on Twitter here.

As the self-appointed spokesmen/woman of the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, we are using the idea of “To the victors go the spoils” quite seriously. What we will do between now and the night the Stanley Cup banner is raised in the United Center is point out the shortcomings of all the teams that won’t have four crisp new banners in their rafters. We continue this series with the Buffalo Sabres.
