After Sam wrote in Tuesday night’s program how the February lull the Chicago Blackhawks usually stagger through never materialized, the Hawks decided they were never winning ever again, as Patrick Sharp and Johnny Oduya enjoyed their first game in the United Center since they wore red and held the Stanley Cup as the Dallas Stars jumped out to a 4-0 lead, which was enough to hold off the Hawks, 4-2.
Let’s get to this.
The Hawks pressing in the third. QStache went nuclear, sending out Jonathan Toews and the Little Idiot on the first line. The Hawks concentrated on winning their shifts rather than trying to score four goals at once. Sure, they still lost by 2, but hopefully they carry this into the game Saturday night against the Ducks.
Scott Darling came in to start the second and he was able to stop the bleeding. Really nice work.
The lack of offense from the third line. Sure, there’s talent with Philip Danault and Teuvo Teravainen. Sure, they’re responsible in their own end. But neither of them have a goal in over 10 games. They need to get going.
Crow did not have a good night in the office.
Jordie Benn. Yukon Cornelius-looking motherfucker.
